This was my first purchase or usage of a humidifier, so I was not sure what to expect in terms of noise level. The HCM-6009 is very quiet unless you have to turn it up to half-speed or greater, in which case it is about as noisy as a typical hotel air-conditioning unit and therefore somewhat disruptive to sleep. Fortunately I have not had to use the higher speeds. It is very simple to assemble and designed well for the routine filling of water tanks and changing of the filter. ------- customers say's
